With over thirteen hours of new videos submitted every minute and more than fifty percent of web surfers and online video watchers sharing links with others, getting a good YouTube ranking is an important way to drive traffic to your site. For website owners and publishers of video content, Video SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is one of the most powerful ways of getting more exposure, a higher profile and free traffic.</p>
<p>However, being found by viewers must happen before you can get loads of views. Some of these sites are simple &#8216;corporate presence&#8217; sites, others are e-commerce sites with shopping carts, and some are straightforward sales pitches with &#8216;free offers&#8217;. Very few have used some rudimentary, do-it-yourself audio and video and even fewer have had their media professionally produced; And they wonder why they have not achieved the desired result&#8230;</strong></span></p>
<p>Very few of these site owners have ever bothered to to reflect on why they have a website and what purpose it serves.</p>
<p style="margin-top:6px;margin-bottom:0;" align="left"><span style="font-size:x-small;font-family:Arial;">Part of the problem stems from a very narrow definition of what a website is: by thinking of your site as a brochure, a catalog or an e-commerce-site, they have fallen into the trap of being fixated on the &#8216;What&#8217; rather than focusing on the &#8216;Why&#8217; &#8211; Features instead of Benefits!</span></p>
<p>This focus on the &#8216;What&#8217; is a detriment, worsened by SEO (search engine optimization) techniques which are only designed to drive traffic, without bothering to convert visitors into customers.
